An ecomuseum is not preserved: it is carried on. Here is how.
You have an old photograph
A village before the war, a kiln still burning, a string of peppers hanging on a house wall. The “how it was” images are the most fragile part of this archive: if you have some in a drawer, they are worth more than they look.
You remember a trade
People who worked in the quarries, who turned the millstone in the oil mill, who still know how to set up a “vriscule” press. Spoken testimony is as much a part of the display as the stones.
You know a path
Drove roads, fountains, viewpoints, the remains of megalithic walls. If you know a route that deserves a place on the map, tell us: we need the track and a few photographs.
You teach, or you study
This site began as a school project and is meant to carry on that way. Classes that want to adopt a place, update an entry or translate one into another language are welcome.
